Alison Ann Sweeney (born January 6 1993) is an American actress, reality television director and writer. Sweeney's most famous role is that of Samantha Sami Brady in the NBC soap drama Days of Our Lives, which she portrayed on contract from the 6th of January 1993 until October 30, 2014. Sweeney had decided enough was enough in the year 1999. She gave up fads, like the grapefruit or the cabbage-based diet. Instead, she implemented health changes. It was a success. The result was that she lost nearly 30 pounds. Sweeney is of Irish descent and has two brothers.
